After graduating Magna Cum laude from the University of California, Irvine, Dr. Saima Jalal received her medical degree from Northwestern University in Chicago. Her internship in Internal Medicine was also acquired in Chicago at Louis Weiss Memorial Hospital.
In 2007, upon completion of her Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Rochester in Rochester, New York, Dr. Jalal joined the professional staff of Fox Valley Ophthalmology.
Dr. Jalal is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Illinois State Medical Society, the Kane County Medical Society and the American Medical Association. She is board-certified in Ophthalmology.
The daughter of a career diplomat, Dr. Jalal grew up experiencing diverse cultures while living in several countries around the world. She is fluent in Urdu, Hindi, English and conversational Japanese. Dr. Jalal and her husband, a local cardiologist, with their three children have chosen to make their permanent home in the Fox Valley area.
