Dr. Abid A. Haseeb joins Fox Valley Ophthalmology following his glaucoma fellowship at the Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary at the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), one of the nation's premier centers for ophthalmic training and research. His advanced fellowship training equips him with specialized expertise in the complex medical and surgical management of glaucoma, as well as modern cataract surgery.
An Illinois native, Dr. Haseeb graduated with highest honors from Brown University with a degree in neurobiology before earning his medical degree from UIC. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Nazareth Hospital in Philadelphia, serving as Chief Resident in his final year.
Throughout his career, Dr. Haseeb has maintained a strong dedication to research. He previously worked as an industry proteomic research scientist investigating cancer pathways. In ophthalmology, he has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals. He also contributed a textbook chapter on ocular surface disease in childhood glaucoma—a topic for which his research received the Distinguished Best Glaucoma Paper Award at the 2023 AAPOS meeting.
Dr. Haseeb provides comprehensive care for glaucoma and cataract conditions, offering minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), traditional glaucoma procedures (including laser treatments, tube shunts, and trabeculectomy), and custom cataract surgery utilizing premium toric and multifocal lens technologies.
His treatment philosophy emphasizes warm bedside manner, clear communication, careful listening, and collaborative decision-making with each patient. Combining advanced subspecialty expertise with a compassionate bedside manner, Dr. Haseeb is proud to serve the Fox Valley community.
